Sir Bill English is the former Prime Minister of New Zealand, retiring from politics in 2018. In his role as Finance Minister he led New Zealand’s response to the global financial crisis, garnering global respect for economic outcomes.
Sir Bill is now Chair of Mt Cook Alpine Salmon, on the board of Wesfarmers Ltd, and is Chair and investor in two social technology companies. He also consults to NZ and Australian companies and governments, and mentors senior management.
Prior to entering politics, Sir Bill was a farmer and public servant. He is married to Dr Mary English, a medical practitioner, and they have six adult children.
