Bran BlackCEO, Business Council of Australia

    Bran Black was appointed Chief Executive of the Business Council of Australia in September 2023.
    Beginning his career as a corporate lawyer, Bran served aschief of staff in four NSW ministerial portfolios, including aschief of staff to the Premier and Treasurer. In these capacities, Bran played a significant role supporting business through the COVID-19 pandemic and the post-pandemic recovery. Prior to this, Bran was Chief of Strategic Initiatives at the University of NSW and led a landmark partnership between the University of Newcastle, the University of NSW and the University of Wollongong as Chief Executive Officer of the NUW Alliance. Bran has also served as General Manager for a major community housing provider and continues to volunteer regularly as a patrol captain for his local surf life-saving club. Bran has a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) from the University of Sydney.
